#AskTheExpert hello Dr my child is 50 days old he always look at ceiling... And have less eye contact with us... Smile to inanimate objects... Is this normal

A. it's ok these are all normal activities according to this is you should not worry the baby will start to develop eye contact social smile just very shortly in few weeks just wait and watch

Hi, My 3.5month old baby (born at 33 weeks 5 days) sometimes look at our faces (sometimes in eyes) while we speak to him and tracks us when we move around when we keep him on floor; but does not look at us when we hold him in hand. Can it be considered as Eye contact. Also, he looks at ceiling fan or lamps and smiles a lot, but rarely smiles when we make him smile.
