Q.

#AskTheExpert doctor I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have taken nt scan and double marker test at 12 weeks , nt scan result is good having nuchal transculency of 0.9 mm and the double marker test has result trisonomy 18 positive , having risk 1:37 . My doctor suggested nipt test. pls tell me what are risks of trisonomy 18 , is my baby able to survive . pls pls explain

A. having trisomy the baby may face development issues after birth and may even have down syndrome or any abnormality and due to which they are not able to stabilize so it is being advised to have proper investigation and then decide whether to continue or not

A. Already 12 weeks plus in your pregnancy that means your child is fine if anything has to happen what happen by Di would have happened by the time of 12 is currently what is the situation in your gynaecologist can only give you a correct advice after the next scan that you get that
