A. If your 22-month-old daughter is suffering from a cold, here are some steps you can take to help her feel better: Hydration: Ensure she is drinking plenty of fluids, like water, breast milk, or diluted fruit juices, to stay hydrated. Warm liquids like soups or herbal teas can also soothe her throat. Nasal Congestion Relief: For stuffy noses, use saline nasal drops or a saline spray to clear her nasal passages. You can also use a bulb syringe to gently remove mucus from her nose. Humidifier: Keep a humidifier in her room, as dry air can worsen congestion. The humidity helps soothe her airways and can help her breathe easier. Rest: Make sure she gets plenty of rest. Sleep helps the body recover from illness and strengthens the immune system. Comfort: Offer her comfort by cuddling and giving her extra attention. A warm bath may also help her relax and ease discomfort. Monitor Symptoms: Keep an eye on her symptoms. If the cold persists for more than a week, if she develops a high fever, or if you notice unusual symptoms like difficulty breathing or wheezing, it’s important to consult a pediatrician for further advice. Gentle Medicine: If your child is uncomfortable or has a fever, you can give her fever-reducing medicine like paracetamol (consult a doctor for the correct dosage). Cold symptoms typically resolve in a week or so, but if you're worried or notice worsening symptoms, it’s always best to seek medical advice.
