Q.

#askexperts Hi. it's been 8 months since I gave birth. I had put on less weight during pregnancy. after pregnancy I had PP depression and anxiety for which I'm on medication. problem is that ..I have lost a lot of weight. 10 kilos less than my pre pregnancy weight. got all the blood work done.. everything normal. no thyroid too . could It be breastfeeding ? or stress ? I am unable to put on weight. I weight 57 now. used to be 67

A. start iron calcium and multivitamins supplements regularly and protein powder with milk twice a day.. breastfeeding helps lots of calories.. you should eat healthy diet and take supplements regularly till 2-3 months

A. Hello dear parent! Yes, all of these can be the causes. Try as much to reduce your stress levels. Try yoga and meditation for better physical and mental health. Eat a well balanced healthy diet and keep yourself hydrated all through the day while breastfeeding your baby. Good luck and take care.
