New Moms, Stay Well Hydrated for Better Health!
I am happy to share my story with you all. Initially, when my baby was born I had enough milk for him but as he was not able to drink, that caused milk reduction. Then began a series of issues. My baby had jaundice and as per the doctors, it was because he did not consume enough milk. My baby would sleep more and drink very little milk. This was what caused jaundice and as per the doctor’s suggestion, we have moved on to formula milk along with breastfeeding. I was not at all happy with formula milk, as because of that my baby had colic pain, and his stools had a strong odour. But I didn’t have any other option. Then as per the suggestion of the doctor, I tool galactagogues to increase milk supply and the result was average for me. I still had to depend on formula milk to feed my baby. I then switched over to another galactagogue which worked well for me.
When I visited a doctor for vaccination, I told him about my these issues. He then suggested that starting from the next day, I should have at least 4-5 litres of water every day (juices can be added too). He also suggested that I take a nap with my baby whenever possible, and consume a healthy diet.
Yes, drinking water definitely helped me. I can say I am happy now. My baby is nine months old now and I am giving him enough milk and a few solids. Sleep is also essential for kids, so please make sure your baby has an adequate amount of sleep time.
This is my story. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to share my life story.
Drink more water, stay dehydrated!
