The best time to start feeding your baby solid foods is only after your baby has completed 6 months. I started feeding my baby solid foods as she completed her 6th month. I started with some steamed bananas, fully pureed, with some sugar and a small amount of desi ghee, which gave it a perfect taste. The second food I fed her was homemade multivitamin powder, finely crushed and mixed with milk and sugar. I made it like a light yet thick consistency, and this food gave her all the nutrients she needed.
The next food I tried was our boiled rice, but mashed and pureed to to liquid consistency. By then, I had stopped giving her extra food or any powders. From 7.5 months of age till now, I am feeding her only homemade food, daily, which she has along with breast milk.
I hope a new mom gets some help from this, as I know how it can be! Thanks to my family for their great support and love – family plays a important role in bringing up a kid, and without them, we are nothing. During pregnancy, delivery, and the time until the baby is an adult, the only people who are worried equally as the parents is your family.
I would love to share one more experience during my pregnancy time. My whole pregnancy period was riddled with dizziness, morning sickness, and vomiting. The main thing which I couldn’t tolerate, was the smell of food cooking. I would not eat food if I saw it being prepared. I am a non-vegetarian, but I didn’t eat chicken during my entire pregnancy. My whole family also then stopped eating chicken, only for me. They did this for me! Their love and care was out of this world.
If you stay alone with your partner, I would suggest that you spend some quality time with your parents, at least during this time. Stay safe, be happy!
