A. This injection is given for lung maturity of the baby and the effect will be there up to one week. So in case you are delivered before hand also the baby will have the coverage with this drugWrite Your Answer Here

A. Hi dear. I am also in my 37 weeks of pregnancy. Yesterday my gynae also gave me this injection. And the 2nd dose of the same will be given after 24 hours. My 1 st. delivery was through c sec. so she suggested me to again go for c sec now. As 37 weeks is going so according to her it’s fine to deliver the baby. Pls share your opinion and experience too on this. I am not nervous. Thinking to wait for few more days and let the baby develop more.

A. I am not sure if Betnesol injection does make sense to take at 37 weeks for a delivery at 38 weeks if the growth is perfect toll now and there are no complications. Perhaps a gynaecologist here can answer. It's a steroidal injection preferably given till 34 weeks and can be later as well on doctor discretion to mature baby lungs and prevent respiratory distress and other syndromes. It basically escalates baby growth. Its considered safe in pregnancy but there ar guidelines laid out for its usage. So, dont worry!!!

A. Hi parent The said injection is used to prevent the issues faced by infants (especially respiratory problems) Please consult gynac and let her decide the course of action as without physical examination one can not suggest anything
