POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. Since your son has completed 6 months today, you can now start introducing solid foods along with continued breastfeeding or formula. Begin with one solid meal a day, preferably in the late morning (10–11 AM) when your baby is alert and active. Start with soft, easily digestible foods like mashed rice, moong dal water, rice cereal, or fruit purees (banana, apple, or pear). Begin with 1–2 teaspoons and gradually increase to 2–3 tablespoons over a week as your baby gets used to solids.
Introduce one new food every 3–5 days to watch for allergies. In the evening, continue with breast milk or formula — avoid feeding new solids at night to prevent digestion issues. Keep the texture smooth and semi-liquid. Maintain hygiene, and never force-feed — follow your baby’s cues.
