A. I think you are talking about fetal pole. Fetal pole is the first direct imaging manifestation of the fetus and is seen as a thickening on the margin of the yolk sac during early pregnancy. When an embryo first develops, it looks like a small bean, a straight pole that is slightly curved at the end.
