Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to worry.
Swelling can be reduced by giving ice fomentation flocally and paracetamol can be given for fever or paign.
Thrombophobe ointment can be applied in acute pain and swelling .

Keep an ice cube on to that area whether swelling has come it is going to settle down also when you get the vaccination done you have to hold the legs of your child is very tightly so that your child cannot move otherwise next time it could actually be a problem
