Q.

sometimes my 9 months baby boy doesn't urinate for 3 to 4 hours, especially in the morning after getting up, however his frequency of urination is quite normal other times. Is there any matter of concern. Kindly suggest.

A. It is normal for some babies to have a longer gap in urination after waking up, as the body conserves fluids during sleep. Since your 9-month-old baby urinates normally throughout the day, there is usually no need to worry. Ensure he is well-hydrated by offering breast milk, water (if started), or liquid-rich foods. If his urine is dark, has a strong smell, or he shows signs of discomfort, dehydration, or reduced urine output during the day, consult a pediatrician to rule out any issues. Otherwise, this pattern is generally harmless and common in many babies.
