my sons thumb and index fingers nails are brittle suddenly.. they look white and nail is peeling/coming of like layers. can you please tell us what is this, should we worry about it?

Sonam PrasadMom of 2 children3 years agoA. hi dear Crushing the base of the nail or the nail bed may cause a permanent deformity. Chronic picking or rubbing of the skin behind the nail can cause median nail dystrophy, which gives a lengthwise split or ridged appearance of the thumbnails.
