A. It's generally not recommended to give cow's milk to babies under one year old because it can be hard for them to digest and may cause issues such as iron deficiency. Instead, consider the following alternatives: 1. **Formula Milk**: If your breast milk supply has decreased, you can supplement with formula milk. Infant formula is designed to meet the nutritional needs of babies and is a safe alternative to breast milk. 2. **Solid Foods**: At 10 months old, your baby should already be eating a variety of solid foods. Ensure your baby is getting a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins. This can help provide essential nutrients that your baby needs. 3. **Breastfeeding Techniques**: To try to increase your breast milk supply, you can: - Breastfeed or pump more frequently. - Ensure you are well-hydrated and eating a balanced diet. - Get plenty of rest and manage stress. - Consult a lactation consultant for personalized advice. 4. **Consult Your Pediatrician**: Before making any changes to your baby's diet, it's important to consult with your pediatrician. They can provide guidance based on your baby's specific needs and health. If you need to supplement with formula, your pediatrician can recommend the best type for your baby. Once your baby reaches one year of age, you can then gradually introduce cow's milk if recommended by your healthcare provider.
