POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. While every child develops at their own pace, it's generally expected that by 18 months, most children will be babbling and attempting to say words. However, some children may take a little longer to start speaking, and that doesn't necessarily indicate a problem.
Since your son is communicating effectively with gestures, it's a positive sign that he's able to express his needs and wants. However, it's still a good idea to discuss your concerns with his pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues and to determine if any further evaluation or intervention is necessary.
In the meantime, continue to encourage communication by talking to your son, reading to him, and responding to his attempts to communicate, whether through gestures or sounds. Encouraging language development through play, singing, and interactive activities can also be beneficial.
