Q.

My son is 9 months old, not cranky, has been eating solids since the 6th month, now suddenly since a week not eating at all, takes 4 bites of our home cooked food & then spits, feeding takes 1hr each time, realised this cannot be only because of teething.......the minute the feeding starts, he rubs his eyes & gets sleepy, his in take of drinking water has increased a lot since 3 days, occasionally see stringy mucus from his mouth, bites his lower lip, pulls his hair since couple of days, he used to love his food, suddenly he seems like he has developed an aversion to food.....any syrup to get his appetite back, is he drinking too much water because of internal fever or has he got too much heat in his body or sometimes I suspect he isn't able to swallow by virtue of boils in his mouth or throat. .....am so worried, pls advise!

A. Dear Mamma, babies go through loss of appetite for several reasons including teething , illness and just not wanting to eat. please continue to breastfeed if you are doing so and keep offering solids. Do not force feed. he will get back to Normal soon and please no syrups.

A. It is the combined effect of the teething as well as the ill health of the child because of which the baby is not able to eat properly I would recommend you to give your baby natural appetisers and some homoeopathic medicine also
