Q.

My son is 6 month old and he has some white spots on his body on legs, hands and buttocks. He was exposed to sun long back but fully covered. We are giving od3 and zincovit daily. We are using derma dew as body lotion for him.One of the dermotologits suggested a steroid cream, In case of heavy spots to apply them. As it is steroid we are thinking of using. Usually his body gets dry faster and sweat also more in summer. Currently we are applying coconut oil. Any suggestions or thoughts to clear those spots. Thanks in advance.

A. hi mom. better to avoid using steroid application for the child as it is not good and may come again once you stop the usage. below some are the measure s to prevent the dryness of the skin as it may be a major cause for white patches white patches over the skin can be because of different reasons such as dryness , vitamin deficiency or any allergy. apply a good moisturiser over the skin. avoid any new products which you have started using. apply coconut oil daily before the bath as it is a best moisturizer available and prevents the skin problems feed the baby with good amount of breastmilk to hydrate the body and consult the pediatrician as soon as possible
