Q.
my son is 38 days old and is suffer with severe cough n cold. I took him to hospital 3 times within 8 days. I am so much worried is it normal for days baby to have cold n cough. doctor prescribed maxtra, ascoril and azitral syrups. how manys days will it take for him to become normal

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchohidilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to tfhe type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

RashmiMom of a 11 yr 2 m old girl3 years agoA. Aa minimum of 3 to 5 days it can easily take to be completely normal Reshu would completely depend on the security of the situation that your child is in so continue with the medicine suggested by the doctor
