A. At 2 years and 5 months, many children are still developing their ability to recognize and name colors, so it's not uncommon for your son to struggle with this. However, you can help him learn colors through fun, interactive activities: Use Everyday Objects: Point out colors in toys, clothes, food, and surroundings. For example, say, "Look, your ball is red!" Color Sorting Games: Give him different colored blocks or objects and ask him to sort them by color. Books and Flashcards: Read books about colors and use flashcards with bright, contrasting shades. Color Songs and Videos: Play simple songs about colors to make learning fun and engaging. Crayons and Drawing: Encourage him to use crayons to scribble and gradually introduce color names while drawing together. Repetition and Patience: Keep repeating color names in daily activities without pressure. Some kids take longer to learn, and that's okay. If he still struggles with color identification by age 3.5–4 or mixes up red and green frequently, consider consulting a pediatrician to rule out color blindness.
