Yes salt can ge applied over it as it squeezes it and heal the area and even neosporine powder can ge be sprinkled over it around four to five times in a day as it will dry it completely

The Doctor has given you a right advice of cutting the salt in belley bottom. It improve the condition of discharge but in my son's case neosporin powder relieved my son from the discharge completely. Apply this powder 7-8 times in a day n you will see marvelous results.

Hello dear parent, well as your doctor has examined the situation  in person then you should follow your doctor's instructions carefully.  Nothing to be a worried about. You can start with putting just a pinch of salt. And see how mbaby reacts. If still feels uncomfortable then ask your doctor for any ointment yo be applied
