Q.

My one month old baby girl is suffering from cold and breathing problem at night time. Doctor told me baby has pneumonia slightly. Iam using nostle drops and syrups.but no use.How it will cure?

A. Cold is a viral disease that usually occurs with symptoms like sneezing, running nose, cough ,sore throat, nasal congestion and fever.at times it can be allergic too. Treatment consists of antihistamines antipyretics analgesics and decongestants . steam inhalation would help in relieving congestion n soothing the irritation in nose and throat . Medicines like sinarest/wikoryl /ascoril flu cold can be given in a proper dose according to the weight for 3-5 days as per the symptoms but it will be better to take only under medical guidance.so please getbrey examination and treatment done by your pediatrician it will be better.no self treatment should be done.

A. hi..follow doctors prescription as baby is too young. Check with paed for saline water nasal spray. At home you can try eucalyptus oil/vicks on a cloth near her head, or sek through ajwain potli. Please DO NOT apply vicks vaporub on her skin directly, it can cause harm to baby's skin.
