Q.

my little one is 20 months old. since a week or so, she has been having trouble passing stool. she does pass motion alternate days bt its very hard and ahe feels excruciating pain while passing. what shdu i do plz help

A. Constipation is usually a very common problem seen in many where the most important causative factor is decrease intake fiber rich diet along with lesser fluid intake. sofme food hilike junk food mostly containing maida and oily food can aggravate such condition. hetre the diet modification should be tried first followed by medications like lactulose milk of magnesia and muout powder.

Q. hi doctor, my 2yr baby has been passing normal stool 2..3 times a day(mostly after a meal) since last one week. earlier he used to pass stool once in a day or every alternate day, but recently he had a stomach ache and developed this pattern of passing stool after a meal. we went to pediatrician, he examined baby and prescribed probiotic. now he does not have stomach pain but pass stool 2 or 3 times a day. and stool is normal. is thia normal?
