Q.

My kid is premature and born in 28weeks and now he is 16months old.. his born weight is 900gms and now his weight is 9.6kg but he is unable to walk or stand without support.. he is crawling, climbing stairs and getting down from stairs also. With support he is walking, standing etc but without support he is not standing.. I tried walkers also with walkers he is walking etc but without support he is not standing.. when can we expect him to stand or walk without support… I’m giving calcium also… pls suggest when premature kids will walk??? I’m tensed with these??

A. for premature baby they should begin to walk without support by 18 months but this is corrected age with premature babies it is possible to reach milestones on average later than full-term baby so it is important to follow the growth milestones with your consulting pediatrician
