Q.

My kid had viral fever post that his urine output is very less. he urinates only when we remove his diaper. he almost drinks 100 ml of water in a day. is it normal?

A. thank you doctor for your advise. But my concern here is not his temperature. he has completely recovered from fever. My concern is his urine output is very less though he drinks water and breast milk. I don't see any colour change in his urine or his stool. Could you tell me if the decreased urine output a concern?

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6ou hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
