Q.

my daughter will complete 5 months in tomorrow. she has achieved all her milestones and is active and responsive. the only concern is her weight. her birth weight was 3.47 and now she is 5.7 kgs. though her height has increased from 50 cms at birth to 67 cms. there is no other health issue with her but she looks lean too and is she underweight. please guide

A. weight should double the birth weight by 5 month of age Weight gain depeens upon birth weight and maturity of the baby if the baby is active and feeding adequately don't worry about it feed for 10 to 15 min from each side

A. Hi mom Ideally the weight gets double the birth weight by five months. if ur baby is active and playful then no need to worry about weight much. Feed for longer time from one breast so that the baby gets both fore milk and hind milk. Hind milk is rich in fat and thicker which will help in weight gain of the baby
