Q.

My daughter's nose is blocked due to severe cold. Even after giving nesoclear it is not getting better. I have shown the doctor but it is not reducing. My doughter age 1.3 years and waight 10kg.What can you do to reduce the cold?

A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed. if any fever is there paracetamobl can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hourns if required .

A. You can also give steam to the child indirectly two times or three times in the day probability that is going to be quite beneficial for you as of now because that actually has a lot in opening up the nasal passage for easy breathing of the child so that is something that you definitely can work upon
