My daughter is about to complete 8 months. She is not able to sit yet.

Every baby development cycle is different. Some babies cross milestones early and some takes time. You should continue doing a massage regularly it will give strength to babies muscles and bones. And leave your baby more on floor because on flat surface babies learn to sit fast.
