Q.

My daughter is 8 months and she keep scratching her ears she doesn't seem to have any pain what should I do #asktheexpert

A. rubbing of ear as well as itching of the ears is totally normal. if the child is not crying do not worry about it and to decrease the itching sensation you can apply coconut oil over skin of ear. do not use earbuds to clean the internal ear cavity. external ear can be cleaned with the help of clean cotton cloth. treatment is given only if thde child is crying with pain while itching. for pain you can give paracetamol. the most common cause would be due to either referred teething pain or due to dry skin of the ears.

A. Sometimes it could be due to an infection as well you should get it checked with an ENT doctor they can check and they can tell you what is the problem if there is any or any treatment treatment would be required eardrops or anything the doctor would advise you on that
