A. Hair loss in babies is very common and because of many reasons. Because of the withdrawal maternal hormone initial hairfall is there. After birth all the hair of the baby remain in the resting phase and usually by 8 to 12 weeks of age shedding of hairs is there . Hairs will grow back mostly by 3-7 months but a proper qualifty hair will be there by around 2 years odf age. Cradle cap is also a cause for frequent shedding of hairs. along with traction alopecia because of continuous pressure on head in lying position
