Q.

My daughter is 13 months old. I have to struggle a lot to make my baby eat. She rejects almost all food items and there are some days when she takes meal only 1 time and whole day she remains on milk. She is 8.5kg. What should I do make her eat proper meals? Is this weight ok for 13 months old?

A. Try to make a routine where you feed solids at regular intervals and give Breastmilk only at certain parts of the day. Follow the same schedule. Even if the baby demands try not to breastfeed all the time. Try giving ur baby finger foods (without choking hazard and you are sure ur baby can chew well and eat) which ur baby can feed on their own . Don't worry about the mess. Some babies don't like to eat until they explore the food themselves. You can use Phillips food maker to prepare varieties. Also try to change the routine menu and introduce new recipes following the two day gap rule. Use different colored plates in different shapes and different types of spoons in different colours to get ur child's attention. 8 to 12.1 kg is the average weight range for this age group. But it also depends on the child's birth weight. Keep feeding a healthy and balanced diet #ParentYourWay
