Aarohi sharmaMom of a 1 yr 8 m old boy4 weeks agoA. In chickenpox, new rashes can continue to appear for 4–6 days, so it is common to see spreading before they start drying. Typically, lesions appear in different stages — some red spots, some fluid-filled blisters, and some scabbed. Mild fever and itching are also common. Keep your child’s nails trimmed, apply calamine lotion for itching, and give paracetamol for fever (avoid ibuprofen unless advised). Ensure good hydration and loose cotton clothes. Please consult your pediatrician urgently if there is high persistent fever, pus from lesions, breathing difficulty, or if the child looks very weak.
