Q.
My baby. was suffering with a fever for the last 2 days. Now today from afternoon we gave her a last dose of Maftal-P, after that the fever didn't come but we are feeling her body become a bit cold and body temperature is between 97.5 to 98.0 While sleeping her sweating is there on her forehead but body is bit cold only.

She is not having fever now but her body is bit cold.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever .
Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks .
Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .other medicine like mefenamic acid ibuprofen can also fbe given .
Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever.
Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial.
Urifne output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
