POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy9 months agoA. It seems that your baby's weight gain is a bit fluctuating, but overall, it is positive in the long run. Let's break it down:
Birth weight: 3850 g
Weight at 15 days: 3450 g (loss of 400 g)
Weight at 30 days: 4010 g (gain of 560 g)
A slight weight loss in the first few days after birth is normal, as babies often lose some weight initially due to fluid loss and adjustment to feeding. However, by the end of the first month, babies should start gaining weight steadily. Your baby has gained 560 g in the next 15 days, which is a good sign.
On average, babies typically gain about 150-200 g per week during the first few months. So, for the first month, a weight gain of around 600-800 g is considered healthy, and your baby's gain of 560 g in the second half of the month is within a healthy range.
Overall, the weight gain appears to be healthy, but it’s always a good idea to track growth and discuss it with your pediatrician during regular checkups. Your baby’s feeding habits, general health, and development are also important factors to monitor.
