POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. I'm sorry to hear that! For a hot water burn on your baby's leg, follow these steps immediately:
Cool the Burn – Hold the affected area under cool (not cold) running water for 10-15 minutes to stop the burning process. Do not use ice as it can worsen the injury. Avoid Home Remedies – Do not apply toothpaste, butter, or oil, as they can trap heat. Apply a Burn Ointment – You can use Silver Sulfadiazine (Silverex/Soframycin) if the burn is mild and the skin is not broken. Aloe vera gel or Bactroban can also help soothe and heal. Cover It Lightly – Use a sterile, non-stick dressing to prevent infection. Pain Relief – If your baby is in pain, you can give paracetamol as per the dosage recommended for their weight. Seek Medical Help If: The burn is large, blistering, or deep. Your baby is in severe pain or the burn looks infected (redness, swelling, pus). The burn is on the face, joints, hands, or genitals.
Let me know how your baby is doing!
