Q.
my baby is refusing to latch from left breast..she starts screaming n turns her face.. but when she is drowsy she ll take.. I don't find any sort of discomfort in left side side since she sleeps on her left side n plays too in turning tat side

ExpertDr Priyashree Mukherjee ChakrabortyPaediatrician5 years agoA. this is common in some cases. just xheck that that u are getting enough secretions from left breastfeeding and there is no issue with latching. watch out for retracted nipples if any that need a manoveur to correct it

If baby suddenly begins to refuse one side, it could be caused by an ear infection or other illness in baby (making nursing painful or uncomfortable on that side), an injury to baby (or something else, such as a sore immunization site) that makes nursing painful in that position, or a breast infection in that breast .
