Q.

My baby is going to be 19 months this June 23. His front soft spot is not closed yet. Can see it based on the breathing rhythm on head clearly when we had tonsure a month back. Is it normal for the soft spot not closed even at 19 months ?

A. they are fontanelle and usually they will close by maximum 18 months of age and only sometimes by 2 years of age. they are normally present in all infants and is important for the development growth of the brain it is important to see that the child is not suffering from calcium and vitamin d deficiency as wexll as the child is not having any other complaints because their deficiency is the common cause of delayed closure of fontanelle. z
