Q.

My baby is five months old. Should we give some drops of water to the baby to keep the baby hydrated because summers are here and it's very hot.

A. Just increase breast feeding. no water before 6onths. No other foods or fluids – including water – are not necessary till 6 months.  Exclusive breast feed your baby two hourly and on demand .

A. Hello ma’am I’ll tell you the logic behind not giving water as per doctors whatever breastfeed or formula feed we provide to our child till the age of six months has sufficient water into it and that is why your child is not advised to be given extra water on top of that and after six months when you introduce semisolid food then obviously the milk quantity goes down so it’s important to introduce water because it helps in maintaining hydration healthy digestion and smooth motion
