Q.

my baby is 9 month +, want to know when we can give water to baby. how much water should be given if yes.

A. you should offer lukewarm water every hour through some sipper... better keep a sipper always nearly your child.. child will slowly develop this habit.. you can also give buffalo milk in diluted form... buy strictly avoid cow milk

A. You can give after 6 months itself. Few spoons of boiled and cooled water after feeding solids will be sufficient for a six month old. You can slowly increase the amount as the baby gets older. Too much of water can also fill the stomach and baby will resist to take other solids. Other than water Baby will get the needed hydration through breastmilk or other liquids that u feed. On an average babies upto one year can take around 60 to 100ml water per day if they have adequate Breastmilk or formula. If there is no proper hydration ur baby may pee in dark yellow colour.
