Many babies go through phases of low appetite, especially during teething, growth spurts, or minor illnesses. Since you've tried a variety of foods, here are some suggestions to help:
1. Check baby's health first Is he teething, constipated, or having gas? Is he active and gaining weight? If there’s any fever, cold, or discomfort, that could be affecting his appetite. 2. Focus on consistency, not quantity At this age, breast milk or formula is still the main source of nutrition. Offer solids once or twice a day, a small spoon at a time. Even 2–3 spoons is a good start. Don't force-feed. 3. Make mealtime stress-free Try eating together so baby sees others enjoying food. Give finger foods like soft fruits (banana, steamed carrot) if he wants to self-feed. 4. Avoid cow milk It’s not recommended before 1 year — it’s hard to digest and may reduce iron absorption. 5. Stick to one food at a time Don’t change foods too often. Let him get used to one taste for 3–4 days before trying another.
If your baby continues to refuse all foods, appears lethargic, or is not gaining weight, it’s best to consult a pediatrician.
