Q.

My baby is 19 months old and cannot walk independently. he has started walking 3-4 steps independently. he walks properly by holding furniture or hands. He is not speaking words. He is facing global development delay as per neuro pediatrician. They have asked to start OT,PT and ST. I am mainly worried about his walk and waiting by what time he will walk.

A. it's totally normal for the baby to not walk independently at 19 months of age, I faced the same with my daughter.. encourage your baby to walk by holding the baby hand, do some leg exercises to loosen the baby tigh muscles.

A. a baby will start Sitting with support by 6 months of age and by 7 to 8 months baby will sit without support than by 9 months usually baby crawls and in 10 months baby will stand with support. After 12 to 15 months baby will start Walking independently and sometimes it may take even longer but in no case any Walker should be avoided as it can cause recurrent fall injury and delay in the walking because the child lacks confidence otyf walking indepehndently.
