Q.

My baby is 17 days old and is having jaundice. His jaundice was recognised after 3rd day of birth and at that time his bilirubin was 16 so we got him to a Nicu for a day. He was discharged when his bilirubin was 8 and after 5 days we again got him tested and his bilirubin was13.8 and again after 4 days his bilirubin is now at 15.4 . I am really concern with this increasing trend of bilirubin factor. Would need some advice as what should we do !! We are trying to expose him to the sunlight but due to rainy weather the sunlight is also not there .. Please suggest what should we do !!

A. usually the neonatal jaundice is there till 10 to 14 days only but if a child is having jaundice level now also so follow the advice given by your doctor as there may be some infection leading to this
