Q.

my baby having a birth mark...my doctor told that it is hemangioma...and prescribed a medicine timolol gel 0.5% ....but everywhere I searched for this,but didn't get,I got it in the form of eye drops....dr is saying no ..it's comes in the form of gel...and then he prescribed another med corticosteroid..... please guide me is giving steroid to 2 month of infant is safe.....i searched about timolol...I got this one is the good med for infantile hemangioma....and recommend 2-3drop.should apply..... which one is better corticosteroid or timolol...?? may I use eye drops as skin gel??pleas guide.

A. Though it's called a birthmark, a strawberry nevus doesn't always appear at birth. The mark can also appear when a child is several weeks old. They're usually harmless and typically fade by the time a child reaches age 10.
