Q.
my baby girl is 5.6 month old. suddenly started running nose. after one day stops. itchy throat , itchy eyes. symptoms of allergy. can i give anti allergy syrup. if yes what will be the dose and for how many days. slight variation in temperature via bathing also causes allergy

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is a viral infection usually occurs with symptoms like sneezing, running nose, cough ,sore throat, nasal congestion and fever.at times it can be allergic too.it is less likely to be related to food but seasonal changes may have an impact.
Treatment consists of antihistamines antipyretics analgesics and decongestants .
steam inhalation would help in relieving congestion n soothing the irritation in nose and throat .
Medicines like maxtra/wikoryl /ascoril flu cold can be given in a proper dose according to the weight for 3-5 days as per the symptoms but it will be better to take only under medical guidance. as it is a viral disease it may take sometimes more than one week also to cure despite taking medication please have patience and if there is no relief you can request your pediatrician to change the medicine s.so please get eedxamination and treatment done by your pediatrician it will be better.no self treatment should be done.
