A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ vidose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. The dosage of paracetamol (acetaminophen) for a 6-month-old baby typically depends on their weight and should be determined by a pediatrician. As an approximate guide, the recommended dosage for infants aged 2 to 3 months is usually around 40 mg to 60 mg per kilogram of body weight per dose, given every 4 to 6 hours as needed, up to four doses in 24 hours. For infants aged 4 to 11 months, the dosage is typically similar but may vary based on the infant's weight and health condition. It's crucial to use a pediatrician-approved dosage chart or consult with a healthcare professional to ensure you are giving the correct amount of medication to your baby. Additionally, always use the appropriate formulation of paracetamol drops specifically designed for infants and follow the dosing instructions provided on the product packaging or as prescribed by your pediatrician. Never exceed the recommended dosage without consulting a healthcare professional, and avoid giving paracetamol to infants under 2 months old unless advised by a doctor.
