Q.
My 20 months old baby got hurt & while crying he holds his breath & suddenly his face turned blue though I was patting his back continuously after few seconds he started breathing again. I am very scared . What we need to do in such situations? Is this normal or do I need to consult paediatrician?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years agoA. your child is suffering from breath holding spells so kindly take the child in you atmosphere as soon as it is starting and then divert the child and also it can occur due to iron deficiency so kindly meet your doctor for iron supplements

Hello ma’am If your child is holding its breath while crying in this turning blue then it could be a sign for adenoids it is related to the nose of the baby but for further details I would advise you to consult an ENT specialist and go for a proper checkup once regarding the same because if your child has adenoids and you have to get a surgery done as soon as possible for the same because that’s the only way out of this issue
