Q.

My 1 year 4 month sold baby is having cold. On first day he had mild fever and I have him paracetamol liquid twice, no fever after that. Today is the 5th day and his cold is not cured yet. I did not gave any medicine or consult doctor for cold yet.

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it can be allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like wikory tol, alex cold In viral illness there can be cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration .
