Q.

l have a baby girl. Her birth weight is 2.5 kg. now she is 189 days (7 months started now) her weight is 5.6 kg. This is normal or not. which food I have to give her for increase weight.

A. Weaning food can be started from 5-6 months of age and in that initially in the stage 1 you can introduce some semi solid food to the baby like Banana mango plum boiled Apple and then gradually you can start with some Puri of carrot potato othere foods which can be given are porridge of suji e sabudana can be prepared in breast milk or formulac milk. initially you can start with one or two tsp which can be gradually increased up till at least three meals in a day

A. Hello dear parent! It is said to be ideal if the baby doubles its birth weight by 6 months completion and triples by one year completion. Your child seems to be doing well. You can start giving your baby semi solids and water along with daily intake of milk. Good luck and take care.
