is it okay to have a bit swelling after giving vaccines?

Author of questionMom of a 3 yr 2 m old girl2 years agoA. yes dr. it was DPT shot and i gave her cold compress few times. Now there is no sign of pain only swelling.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to worry. Swelling can be reduced by giving ice fomentchation locally and paracebtamol can be given for fever or pain. Thrombophobe ointment can be applied in acute pain and swelling .
