Is it mandatory to hit slowly at the back of the child for burping after breastfeeding?

A. Instead of hitting you can rub babies back in upward direction or you may take your baby on your lap and give some tummy time. P.S. tummy time varies as per age of the baby however it is mandatory in every stage.

A. hi not mandatory but to do it is best as it help to prevent gas problem in babies. so , you may try different burping technique like burping on chest, burping on lap etc or simply hold your child on your shoulder in upright position after each feeding for 10 to 15 minutes.
