in winters my 17 month old baby can eat fruits

A child should actually be eating fruits throughout the year and there is no problem with that the problem here is that the parents give it directly from refrigerator without realising that that is going to create problem otherwise during common cold and cough for normal course of life your child should have fruits but always on room temperature
