Q.

I had a c section my first time... that was 10 years ago... I am eight weeks along now and considering normal delivery but very scared of tearing... how common is a third and fourth degree tear in India and is an episiotomy normally just done?

A. Usually episiotomy is done in India and in cases of VBAC it is actually advisable to do an episiotomy . You can talk to the treating doctor to see her plan and mode of delivery. You must keep in mind that this can lead to a cesarean delivery even if you had an idea of trial of vaginal delivery due to some complications or factors during laborWrite Your Answer Here

A. Every body is different. So the best decision would be by your treating doctor. Although most doctors do not recommend taking a risk. after all you want your baby to be safe so take a call wisely.
